Miss Illinois (MAO) Kickoff Weekend

My first Miss Illinois Spring Kickoff Weekend!

What a fun time meeting new sisters, learning from titleholders, and fundraising for the Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization! The weekend started with a stop at our wonderful sponsor, Simply Elegant by Cheri, where I found the perfect dress for the opening number and gala night! Above, you can see the gorgeous nude-and-teal gown, but you’ll have to wait until state week to see my funky opening-number cocktail dress. I also had the opportunity to create content and model wedding dresses for her. The evening included a tour of the old Illinois state capitol and a dinner where I was seated with Miss America, Miss Illinois, and Miss Illinois’ Teen. I also submitted my paperwork and shot some content once back at the hotel.

The second day included a brunch with Miss America through our Miss Illinois Jewels Program. The brunch featured a beautiful performance and delicious bites. Following brunch, I shot content for Jacey’s Journal and Miss Blue Violet merchandise. Next was the official orientation, where we learned details about state week and heard motivational speeches from Miss America and Miss Illinois. A quick change for the gala, where my family donated $500 to dine with Miss America and contribute to the scholarship fund to empower young women, while also getting to know our Miss America even better. The delegates even had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their initiatives to all attendees.

This weekend was memorable for meeting and reconnecting with so many, learning more about this impactful organization, and preparing our hearts and minds for the state competition.
