Bogota, Colombia
Wow! I spent 4 days in Colombia visiting my brother who works and lives there and it was so cool.
While there, I was able to visit Monserrate which was a church on top of the mountain, requiring us to take a tram up and then hike even further. We were able to see a beautiful overlook of the country, the church, and other sights on the mountain.
My brother also took me to the market where we did a four hour fruit tour. We tasted for 25 fruits native to the area while also seeing the flowers produced, sold, and exported. My favorite fruit involved smashing it on top of your head to crack it open! Even as a semi picky eater, I loved the tour and the history that went along with it.
We also played a Colombian version of the “bags” game we have here in the midwest. This involved throwing rocks towards a board that had firecrackers you tried to hit for certain points. Let’s just say… my aim need improvement when throwing rocks.
Along with shopping, amazing meals, and seeing the Barbie movie, it truly was a great trip. A great place to visit if looking to learn more or relax and eat delicious foods!
