Spring Break 2018: Punta Cana

WOW OH WOW! What an amazing trip this past week was! I am so relaxed, refreshed, and happy. For spring break, my best friend, Sara, and I went to Punta Cana with my parents. It was an amazing trip, and Sara’s first time out of the country. We stayed at the Princess Bavaro Resort (my second time) and had a beachside suite to ourselves. It was really awesome being able to talk in spanish most of the time, and learn many new words! Our days mainly consisted of naps, food, and reading, but below you’ll find a day-to-day breakdown + PICTURES!!!! Can’t wait for you to read about my first vacation of 2018!!!!

Bonus Note: The night we got into Punta Cana, I won a t-shirt at the welcome dinner after Sara and I did a dance for the entire restaurant!

Día Uno:
Saturday- Today was our first full day on the island, and we woke up early (being used to school wake up times) and headed to the beach. After the “required” basic insta girl photo session, we grabbed breakfast and headed into the sun! Sara and I took a walk on the beach, and got henna tattoos- She got a wave, and I got a sun. We napped, tanned, and ate some more food before retreating back to our room to get ready for dinner. We had dinner at BellaPasta, the Italian restaurant of our resort. After a brief power outage (yep dinner by candlelight) we went to the main lobby for chocolate fountain dessert, & wifi! After dinner, we watched Soul Surfer- good way to be scared of the ocean- and went to sleep!

Día Dos:
Sunday- Today’s weather was ROUGH. I mean it was paradise rough, but not what we were hoping for! It was pretty rainy and windy for most of the day, so after a couple piña coladas on the beach, we gave up and went to the Platinum Lounge, and read our books. (I’m also filling out blog notes while here too!) This trip i’m reading The Right Side of Wrong and am really enjoying it! After some showers, and putting on dresses, Sara and I went to the main lobby for some wifi and popcorn! While relaxing we were offered to have our picture taken and we had a mini photoshoot! Then we had dinner at Sakura- the Chinese restaurant and enjoyed some 6/10 dumplings and my duck was phenomenal!!! Off to the chocolate fountain for dessert, and wrapped up soul surfer before calling it a night!

Día Tres:
Monday- Today was a whirlwind of activities! It started off super rainy, and then the S U N S H I N E came out!! Sara and I relaxed on the beach before heading over to The IberoStar Resort to visit my friend Kathryn, and we hung out with her for awhile! After that we came back and read our books and had a couple more piña coladas! It was off to the showers and then we dined at the steak house for dinner, and were serenaded by the mariachi band with Despacito! Off to the chocolate fountain and then Hannah Montana episodes before hitting the pillow. GREAAAAT DAY!!!

Día Cuatro:
Tuesday- Today had lots of rain and clouds :( We slept in and rushed to breakfast before closing! (They were out of donuts- so much sadness) We attempted to relax on the beach but the wind and thunderstorm got to us! We ran back to our suite, and changed to go for a workout. After an adventure of finding the gym, we did a cardio circuit and went to lunch with my mom! (Still no donuts.) We then shopped in the lobby boutiques, and came back to our room for one more piña colada and read our books. I am now reading Top Ten and so far, so good. We went to Chopin for dinner, followed by the now traditional chocolate fountain dessert. (My lactose intolerance is not happy with my choices!) After eating, we played go fish, and blackjack before bedtime. I read outside and then went to sleep.

Día Cinco:
Wednesday- The alarm went off at 8am today and the sun was SHINING. Thank goodness there were donuts at breakfast today!  We played in the giant waves, using a boogie board, and made our way over to the pool where we made Belgian and French friends playing volleyball! We went back to BellaPasta for dinner, and conquered the chocolate fountain once more ;) THEN we went to watch the Lion King reenactment and it was the funniest and most entertaining show!!!  We went back to the room and played blackjack before catching some Z’s!

Día Seís:
Thursday- Today is our last full day but the sun is UP and the clouds are CLEAR! Donuts for breakfast of course and then lounging on the beach! Sara and I got massages beachside too!  We went over to the pool area and participated in their “Queen of the Pool” swimsuit pageant- and it was the most ridiculous, funniest experience I can’t even describe! After more beach time and piña coladas, we went back to the room to get ready for dinner, and pack our suitcases :( We leave tomorrow afternoon and will miss this relaxing week. For dinner we went to Licey, a seafood and steak house! After the wonderful last experience of the chocolate fountain, we played blackjack with my parents before heading to our room for a dance party of early 2000 songs!!!! (Dance party videos are confidential- sorry loves!!)

On our final day before we leave first we relaxed on the beach watching the sunrise and talked to our favorite bartender turned BFF Claudio- the mastermind behind our virgin piña coladas! Our flight departed later Friday afternoon, and we were home before we knew it!  This trip has been amazing and built so many memories that i’ll hold onto forever.
Thank you mom and dad!
